[Jan. 14][G1 Transformers] Mutterings
Title: Mutterings
Day/Theme: Jan. 14 'Me plus one'

Notes: I have no idea if Astrotrain ever gets a canon Powermaster partner. Just work with me here.

Astrotrain dangled one arm off the side of his berth and drummed his fingers against the floor. "Hey, Zsa Zsa-"
"Zanato!" His powermaster partner snapped. The wild-haired man, like a lot of Decepticon 'master partners, had moved into the space under his Transformer's berth. Unlike a lot of others, he hadn't really bothered to do much with it besides set up walls and bully some Nebulans into installing plumbing.
"*Zanato*, what are you?"
"I am a Saiyajin, as I have said every other time you asked that!"
Astrotrain half-rolled so that he faced the wall and one wing hung off the edge of the berth. "That doesn't tell me anything."
The man stuck his head out from under the berth, then walked over and climbed up Astrotrain's arm. He didn't climb like humans or Nebulans, who tended to scramble pretty awkwardly when confronted with something as smooth as a Transformer looked. Instead, he walked up the side of Astrotrain's armor, hanging parallel to the floor until he could step onto the triple-changer's back. "It tells you everything! I am the way I am because I am a Saiyan!"
Astrotrain twisted his head around to look at his partner. Hnh, Zanato's tail was lashing, the spiked cuff on it catching and shattering light. Really angry then, since moving his tail hurt so much. Or so the Nebulans said it should; Astrotrain hadn't really noticed Zanato in particular amounts of pain.
"... Can you breathe in space?"
Zanato's tail froze, then the very tip began to twitch. "I could survive for a few minutes in space," he said carefully.
Astrotrain drummed his fingers against the floor. "You eat like a black hole. Can you survive on rations?"
"I know how to ration food." Zanato sat down, his tail curling around his waist. "What are you planning?"
"Nothing."
His powermaster partner pounded his fist against Astrotrain's back. "Tell me."
The triple-changer shrugged irritably. "Show some patience, Zsa Zsa."
"Call me that again, and I'll rip out something vital when you stick me in your chest."
Astrotrain chuckled. He liked his 'partner better than most, and was sure Blitzwing would like him, too. Just had to find his Pit-blasted fellow triple-changer again. With the little Saiyajin as his partner, Astrotrain didn't need the Decepticons anymore. Next mission, all he had to do was fly away.
