[January 2] [Harry Potter] Battle
Title: Battle
Day/Theme:
31_days January 2/Battle without honor or humanity, also for
au100 #074. Dark (7/50). (Table)
Series: HP
Character/Pairing: Harry
Rating: 13+
Disclaimer: I do not own anything from the series; Harry Potter is owned by JK Rowling, etc.
Harry knew that war was never pretty, or easy, and that the war against Voldemort wasn’t much different from the hundreds of wars fought throughout time. He also knew it was something that the light tried to ignore, and the dark just didn’t care much about.
He had learned many hard lessons throughout the war, and although he knew that Dumbledore wouldn’t have approved, he taught those lessons to his friends. In the end Harry’s teachings had probably been what saved so many students. He had taught them that the battle was never about winning or losing, it was simply about surviving to fight another day; he taught them not to be afraid to play dirty or use questionable means in a fight.
Yet perhaps the most important lesson he taught them, was to take advantage of the wizarding world’s distaste towards muggle technology… even the so called light side preferred the use of magic for things that could be done just as well the ‘muggle’ way. It was this ignorance of how lethal some muggle weapons could be that led many of them to their death; because Harry saw no place for honor or humanity in battle, and wouldn’t hesitate to stab or shoot an enemy in the back.
