Jigsaw lingers in his dreams, a cold whisper in his ear and a constantly lingering paranoia he can't fix. That saga of his life is over, but even in his years, it never leaves.
Luke never blurs the line with Strahm; he is not Strahm and will never be, but it's always there. It perforates like something burning.
After slipping through cracks and slipping case files to expose the truth, he'd wanted nothing more than forgetting everything. Star's Hollow is quaint, and it's his livelihood. He comes back just in time of his father's passing, and he never spent too much time away.. So he's okay. He is still hardware boy, Luke Danes. He eventually becomes Dinerboy, hell, dinerman.
Luke has a person buried under photos in a little box, trinkets and manila folders neatly assorted in a locked box. Nobody has ever found it, and by his luck, nobody will find it. It's special having someone to yourself, even if they're not truly.
She was light-skinned with dark curls pulled into a ponytail. She had big, buggy eyes that stared into your soul, like tiny windows and train-car views. Holding her hand was like a tether down to the real world, someone commonly crazy but with one foot in reality. Lindsey was smart and lovely, and she's neatly filed away with the strewn pieces of Strahm.
It's best like that.
Luke Danes loves Lorelai Gilmore, a shining star away from the cold, cruel world—his solace—and Peter Strahm died loving the living Lindsey Perez.
