"Stop it. Stop." Hiei growled to himself, head hung down as he rapidly wiped at his face, digging his knuckles into his cheeks and burning his eyes. "Stop."

Kurama shouldn't have to see it. Hiei didn't know why he was crying anyway; he'd rarely, if ever, cried, and why was Kurama's presence in the morning something that did? Why? Why? It was confusing.

Save for the echoing of stones against the floor, it was silent.

Hiei gritted his teeth, hanging his face lower down. Warmth on his shoulder nearly made him look over, but that would've showed his face to his partner.

"Hiei." Kurama gently murmured. "Please."

The fingers on his shoulder pressed harder, long fingers digging into his shoulder. It was incessant. It was begging Hiei for something he didn't understand, so the fire demon pulled away further, leaving fingers to slide across his back.

He heard the noise of rustling. Hiei felt Kurama getting closer again. Not pushing, just there.

The demon closed his red eyes, trying to stop it. Ignore it.

"You don't need to stop, Hiei. It's okay."
