--
Resigned to desk-work for the afternoon, Lancelot leafed through the paperwork that awaited him. It was mostly requisitions and assignments, a couple of requests for personal leave, and nothing altogether complicated aside from one disciplinary matter. That would require just a bit of further research, because looking at the name and offense, Lancelot was sure this wasn't the first time this particular knight had gotten a little too involved in celebrations and caused a bit of a ruckus.
A bit of digging provided him with a list of infractions and while they weren't endless, there was definitely a bit of a pattern. And Lancelot remembered some of the early incidents well; surely they were logged in Siegfried's unique script on his old records. Here were others, as well, and the notes changed from Siegfried's hand to Percival's and...
Lancelot smiled and reached to trace Percival's neat script, over a pair of infractions and what had been deemed proper punishments. Percival had certainly been better at handling discipline at that point. Lancelot had relied on him then, just as Percival had relied on him for other subjects, and they'd relied on each other far more than most had ever realized.
Leaning back, the present situation currently forgotten, Lancelot closed his eyes. He had no idea where Percival even was, or if Percival even had moments where he thought back in the same way, if he ever remembered when they...
With a little head-clearing shake, Lancelot opened his eyes and went back to work. He'd handle the requisitions and assignments first, and the leave requests second, everything else after, and-
-and he tucked away the page with Percival's writing until it was time to add to it.
Maybe he could try to write a letter. Maybe wherever Percival was-
-maybe he'd respond.
