[December 13] [Star Wars] wasted opportunities, a waste of energy
Two versions of the same theme; think of them as mirror reflections.
Title: wasted opportunities
Theme: Of unkissed kisses
Series: Star Wars
Pairing: Anakin/Obi-Wan
Rating: PG-13
There were moments that, had they occurred in that brief period just before they returned to Coruscant, they'd have kissed. These moments were not infrequent. Just that morning, as Obi-Wan became steadily frustrated with a malfunctioning motor in his flyer that refused to be fixed, Anakin had wanted to kiss his irritation away. When Obi-Wan was on edge, Anakin became on edge too, and the easiest way he knew to pacify them both was through physical contact. But that option was closed off to them now, so Anakin had to settle for fixing the motor for him, which at least kept Obi-Wan from getting any worse, but didn't eliminate the irritation that had already built up. Jokes wouldn't have done any good; Obi-Wan was in no mood for those, even if Anakin could come up with any.
Title: a waste of energy
Theme: Of unkissed kisses
Series: Star Wars
Pairing: Obi-Wan/Anakin
Rating: PG-13
There were moments between them, now, that had they taken place in that short period in which they were sleeping together, they would have kissed. It was unusual, not kissing; Obi-Wan had grown accustomed, spoilt, really, to that intimacy. And though he knew that the right thing was to keep themselves chaste against each other, he couldn't hold back the longing. It did not help that Anakin sensed this longing. Obi-Wan may have been resolute in his decision, but Anakin wasn't. He'd have started their relationship up again that same night they'd ended it, if Obi-Wan had only let him. And the moment Obi-Wan let his guard slip, that's when he'd move in.
In his dreams, those moments he let pass by came back, and this time, he gave in, eagerly, happily. In his dreams there were no consequences for loving Anakin, at least, no negative ones. There was no shame in his passion. Anakin loved him back, fully. Padmé was not an issue. There were no ulterior motives, no higher morals, nothing that took precedence. When he awoke from these dreams, some more explicit than others, his embarrassment at the persistency of his feelings was worse than the realization of reality.
