Ribrum was in bloom, but it wasn't the endless and and bright blossoms that had Rose Hip's attention. No, he was out in the mansion garden with a different focus.

There, tucked just into a small pocket of shadow, was Ekinasea, painting.

"Pardon the interruption..."

Ekinasea glanced up from his canvas and shook his head.

"Check on me whenever you need to."

Rose Hip bit back a sigh. Yes, he'd pardoned Ekinasea, but the offers of supplies, scenery, company... Those weren't anywhere in the conditions.

"May I see?" Rose Hip questioned, and Ekinasea nodded.

Rose Hip slipped around behind Ekinasea and focused on the canvas. Even unfinished, it was a delight to behold. Since his release, since Rose Hip had claimed him to nurture, his art had reached new heights and Rose Hip was pleased beyond words.

"Wonderful," he said after a long moment and realizing that Ekinasea was obviously waiting for some sort of commentary. He gently touched Ekinasea's shoulder and smiled. "Work until dinner, if you'd like, and then join me?"

Ekinasea seemed lost for words for a moment before nodding.

And while Rose Hip hated to leave, he knew he was interrupting...

But dinner would be different.
