“The soldiers are doing their basic tasks fine. But this scouting task calls for careful and meticulous observation. Just doing the bare minimum wouldn’t be enough.”
“And there is not a single soldier you can ask to do it.”
Rufus glanced wordlessly at Lias, before returning to his paperwork. “You already have your task guarding the Princess.”
“But I can -”
“Are you saying you can’t listen to orders, now?”
Just one more time, Lias wanted to hear Rufus acknowledge his efforts, see how much he’d put in to be more than just mediocre. But today, still, was not the day.
