[9-July-2021][Ayatsuri Sakon] Things Could've Done
Title: Things Could've Done
Day/Prompt: 9-July-2021
Fandom: Ayatsuri Sakon
Character/Pairing: Sakon & Ukon
Rating/Warning(s): General
"There are so many better choices you could've made," Ukon lifts a finger, and Sakon opens his lips to speak, looks as if he's about to say something, then closes his mouth. "You could've hitched a ride. You could've got picked up by a cool, sheltered long-haul driver."
Ukon has this way of making what he's doing seem obvious and a little dumb, so un-interesting that he might as well be invisible.
The puppet lifts another finger.
"You could've rode the bus," Another finger, "or you could've borrowed a certain guy's motorcycle..."
Sakon sighs, then musters up an optimistic smile. It's a little tough when he's hiked through storms and storms, looking more like a drenched Tokyo sewer rat more a young boy.
",,,or you could've just ridden with him... Yep." A fourth finger, Ukon nods his head slowly and smiles in some sad victory, holding all fingers together and shaking them like a dog and a toy.
"And if you done one of those things, or even two, you'd probably have arrived here in time for supper." He doesn't lift the last finger, but Sakon gets the point.
Sakon looks out. This is reality, of course, and with reality he's very chipper, trying at optimism and not feeling down, but even he can acknowledge he's heavy from the trek.
Sakon pats Ukon's head, ruffling his red hai. With a growing smile, he says, "We're here now though, aren't we?"
