"What were your parents like Alexa?"

The question came out of out nowhere; she didn't have an exact answer. Tilting her head, she asked, "What's the occasion?"

Chaos shrugged his shoulders. "I just want to know more about them."

"Well," she started, leaning back onto the couch the two were sharing. "You already know that I come from a large family of thieves. My father was tricky but very kind. He knew how to evade the most brilliant of traps. My mother was beautiful but no idiot. She used those skills to get what she wanted. Together, they were the best."

The dreamy look of admiration on her face was cut short by Chaos' laughter. "You really admire them don't you?"

She ignored him and twisted a lock of hair around her finger. "What about your parents?"

Chaos brought his feet onto the couch, earning himself a slap on the arm but he ignored it. "Why do you want to know?"

Another slap to the arm, this time a bit harder. "I told you about mine. You tell me about yours."

Chaos lifted his head so that his nose lightly brushed Alexandria's. "Do I get a kiss if I tell you?"

A push to the chest that made him fall onto the arm of the couch. "Don't even start kidding yourself. Now," she lifted her feet onto the couch and kicked his chest softly with her heel. "'Fess up."

"My mother was a lovely woman but when I was ten, she got sick. I had no money to pay for a doctor so I had to resort to a final method."

"So that's when you started your stealing career?" she asked, trying hide her interest. "Not fair. I didn't start until I was fourteen."

"I stole for family. You stole for fame," Chaos said, his white bangs hiding his soft grey eyes.

Alexandria shrugged her shoulders. "I have to keep up my family image, don't I?" she frowned lightly but tapped the man with her foot. "What happened to her? Did you get enough money off the things you stole to get a good doctor?"

"By the time I had enough money, she had died."

Alexandria shifted uncomfortably and looked off in the opposite direction. "What about your father? Couldn't he do anything?"

Alexandria never saw Chaos' face twitch in slight anger. "I never knew anything of my father."

Alexandria's slumped onto the couch's arm. "So sad." She turned back to him, only to find herself nose to nose with man she had just sympathized with. Alexandria clenched her fists as his hand found its way to her cheek.

"Now. Where is my kiss my darling?"

A slap to the cheek that made him fall to the ground.
