[December 2] [Ordinary Princess] A bit before the after
December 2: Their days are like grass
Title: A bit before the after
Series: Ordinary Princess
Characters: Amy, Perry
Like all things regarding her life, Amy finds that she and Perry have a perfectly ordinary kind of love. They occasionally quarrel (though they do so playfully, with a gracious allowance for each other's idiosyncrasies), they laugh (although with perhaps more hilarity than most, as Amy and Perry are aware of how scandalous their brevity is), and, very occasionally, they weep (it was a terrible and crushing blow to them both when Amy, one brisk and beautiful September morning, fell out of an apple tree and lost their first child). Mostly, they are happy and patient; Perry consciously scribbles tick marks in the margins of royal documents, counting down the days until the two of them can steal away to The Birches. Amy has more and less to do now that she is a queen and spends her time being a general (and refreshing, although most of them refuse to admit this) disappointment to visiting royalty.
They grow together with great contentment and find, with little surprise, that their equal partnership inspires their subjects a little at a time, and breeds kindness throughout the land.
