--
"This is the worst."
Rumi looked over at Matsun and nodded. What they had was a disaster and no way to recover from it. They'd known it was a risk to work on doujinshi for an anime-only character for a filler arc, but he'd seemed perfect! In hindsight, which was what the last hour had been, after an hour of utter shock and panicked phone calls after the episode had ended, all the signs had been there. Everything was set up so that their perfect seme was also going to be a perfect bastard, betray everybody, and then die horribly because he was, after all, an anime-only character in a filler arc.
"At least we only got four pages done," Rumi finally said. She couldn't even look at the pages spread on the table. Everything was still too fresh and raw. They'd lost him far too soon. She'd had such plans for him. They both had. And now they couldn't even just erase him, or script around. No, he was the lead; it was his book. There was absolutely nothing to do with it other than scrap their hard work...
"Maybe we can script the end into a redemption story and let him live and be all bandaged up and..."
"Bedside confessions! That'll be the best!" Rumi grinned. Already, ideas were flowing. And they could keep those four pages, too.
Matsun nodded and echoed Rumi's smile. But then... "One thing, Rumi.
"Maybe we should wait til after next week's episode."
