Theme 3: Like Hamlet

Character: Mustang, Hawkeye [gen]
Rating: Teen (for language)
The Colonel is in a spectacular mood.
"Sometimes," he proclaims tragically to the office and the world at large, "I feel like Hamlet." He prepares to go on in this maudlin vein, no doubt about some girl who has declined to share his company for the evening ("He must have felt this way when Ophelia drowned!" he plans to say next. He is perfect in his absurdity.)
He sighs deeply and prepares to continue when a crisp voice cuts him off.
"If in being like Hamlet you mean that you're fucking insane, I am rather inclined to agree, sir," Hawkeye says with false calm. She is not in a good mood. "Now would you please shut up and finish reviewing those reports?"
The office remains silent for the rest of the day, and no one is terribly surprised by the small, satisfied quirk Hawkeye's lips have taken on. And as amusing as the Colonel's poetic winging often is, the loss of it is no small tragedy.
