[November 10th][Original] Necessity
Title: Necessity
Day/Theme: November 10: The brightest heaven of invention
Series: Original (Diana and Belle #33)
Character/Pairing: Diana and Jonathan
Rating: PG-13
“That’s not the word for merchant…” Diana warned, but it was too late. The demon broke right through the circle, and was looking for Jonathan, who had hiden behind the altar.
“Shit, damnit - Why the hell did you have to - I don’t have a spell for this, you bloody idiot!”
Still cursing, Diana concocted a trap for the mermaid demon with cheery pie and a large boulder. Within moments the workroom was spattered with various shades of red, and Jonathan was unscathed. Shaking from his near fatal missummoning, he quipped:
“Necessity is the mother of invention. You made do without one.”
“Then you’re the child of necessity and stupidity. You keep making spells _sound better_. You should have been a bastard,” Diana said, still raging.
“I like to think I was immaculately conceived by cluelessness on an off night,” he said, testing his legs to see if they would hold his weight without causing him to shake like a leaf. They wouldn’t.
“Well, let me clue you in on how to hold a mop,” Diana said, and he caught on real fast.
