Kain wouldn't make it a question. Didn't have the energy, didn't have the will. Not that he'd admit it -- pride was all he had left, even if more the illusion of pride.
Twice, now. Twice. And the second time built on the lie that I was free.
Bitter; oh, bitter. Kain, hunkered down in the back of the Whale's command deck, felt bile rise in his throat.
Between those two instances, Golbeza merely slackened the leash --
Can I cleanse my shame before he calls me a third time?
