They met on the way to Cornelia, a series of events that, in the end, they decided to carry on after and see what came of it all.
Three magelings freshly escaped from apprenticeship and a wandering swordsman so new to his craft the sheen was still on his blade: not an imposing band, by any means. But that was alright. Despite different origins, they were drawn to that same track; exchanged pleasantries, then questions, then half-remembered dreams.
Then, shared the glittering baubles they carried -- somehow -- in common.
It was surely a sign; so they let it guide them forward.
