After so many centuries -- after so much loss, and so much pain -- in the end Raegen made the choice without a moment's hesitation.
It didn't matter how long they'd served together.
It didn't matter, the bonds forged between them.
It didn't matter how he could tell, sight unseen, how Citra's stare bored into him through that expressionless mask.
She'd taken enough from him already.
And the others had become what they all fought against, once.
It wasn't enough, any more, to simply stand aside.
In Frostlord's long-lost panoply Raegen drew his blade and made his stand.
The choice was made.
