That was the answer to the turmoil; the way to untangle the uncertainty in his heart. And it took a long, twisting road to believe he might deserve that. But now, Cecil felt sure.

'Light' and 'darkness' depend on the individual.
The black sword was grim and fearful, but not intrinsically evil. The bright blade was purifying, but not intrinsically good.
May my hand be steady and my heart be steadfast.
It was up to him to wield them both, and well.
