[November 1st][Original] Why?

Day/Theme: November 1: Things you've never seen
Series: Original (Diana and Belle #32)
Character/Pairing: Jonathan/Evan
Rating: PG
Evan was hard at work on a pattern when Jonathan walked into the study. The bright afternoon sunlight caught the highlights in his hair and turned them metallic. Jonathan leaned over the desk to examine the spirals and swirls of the design, and Evan paused to let him do so.
“Is this bit backwards?” he asked, gently tracing the air above the mark in question.
“I think so. Thank you,” Evan replied, retracing it. He leaned back, resting his head against Jonathan’s chest, and looking into his eyes, asked:
“Why did you decide to pursue magic?”
“To see things I’ve never seen,” Jonathan said, smiling. He stroked his love’s feather soft hair, watching the shimmer of light. “Why are you with me?”
“To show you things you’ve never seen,” Evan said, and with that question settled, they both went back to their work.
