He used to only hear it in quiet moments -- though "hear" was not quite accurate -- from the void inside himself. When contemplating his "friend".
But now ...
Now Xemnas heard it constantly. Felt it constantly, a vortex of vengeful intent like stone grinding on stone, wearing him down and wearing him through.
A Nobody could regrow a heart. This much was true.
This was not a regrowth, he was certain of it.
There was something else inside him, and it was as implacable as an avalanche.
And -- as unlikely as may be -- Xemnas felt the first inklings of real fear.
