[June 7] [Fire Emblem Heroes] Blue Chamber
Title: Blue Chamber
Day / Prompt: 07 / Midnight Music
Fandom: Fire Emblem Heroes (& Persona Series)
Character(s) / Pairing(s): Igor, Kiran (F)
Rating / Warning(s): All Ages
Word Count: 390
Blue carpet thick enough to dampen all sound. A ceiling too high to be visible. A number of doors, several of them covered by black cloth. Walls that seemed to be moving past at a high speed, as if the chamber had been designed to rise upwards at all times. A plush chair ... facing a large desk that had but a single occupant behind it, a thin man who had bulging, unblinking eyes, pointed ears, and a very long nose.
For a long moment, he said nothing, and Kiran gradually became aware of a female voice singing a disembodied aria, seeming alien, but familiar. As she processed that information, the man behind the desk said, his voice a high-pitched rasp, "Greetings, and welcome to the Velvet Room. This place exists between dream and reality, mind and matter. My name is Igor, and you are here because you have signed a contract."
Kiran nodded. It all seemed like a dream, and that might have been why she did not question the logic of the place. Had she been there before, or – ? Impossible to say.
Igor steepled his fingers, saying, "Soon, you will undergo a Trial, and you will not be able to survive it alone. You will need the power ... of your Heroes." A figure emerged from the shadows to stand next to the chair. "This is my assistant, Marth. She will guide you through your ordeal and teach you how to use Heroes to your advantage."
"Hello. Please use my knowledge and experience to the fullest. That way, you and I can survive the Tempest together." Lucina? Short hair and a butterfly mask, but she had the same armor, the same voice. She had once mentioned assuming the identity of 'Marth' to fulfill her mission, but that did not explain her presence in the blue chamber.
"Remember," Igor said, "the Kingdom of Askr is depending on you. Without your help, the Order of Heroes will surely fall. Face your Trial with your head held high and your Heroes at your side, and you will be able to overcome all who stand in your way."
Kiran closed her eyes, then, only to open them again in the real world and hear the sound of thunder outside her window as the Tempest descended upon the castle ....
END.
