[June 5] [Fire Emblem Heroes] Another Face
Title: Another Face
Day / Prompt: 05 / Say Goodbye To the Past You Never Knew
Fandom: Fire Emblem Heroes
Character(s) / Pairing(s): Legault, Ursula
Rating / Warning(s): All Ages
Word Count: 490
"The Hurricane is here. I did not expect to see you again, of all people."
Ursula. Legault recognized her voice, and he turned to face her, a familiar half-smile on his face as he said, offering a salute, "And I certainly didn't expect to see you again, either, especially considering that you're dead." At that, she blinked, and he elaborated, "The Summoner says it's possible to summon heroes from the same world, but different points in time. Me? I've only just arrived, and my most recent memory is –" He shook his head. "It isn't that important. The point is that, to me, you've been dead for years."
Ursula raised a brow. "In my time, you're on the run, and I'm still tasked to bring you to the Fang's justice. I'd do exactly that here, but –" She narrowed her eyes. "– as long as both of us are in thrall to the Summoner, I can't lift a finger against you. Is that why you're so much at ease in this place, even seeing me here, standing in front of you?"
Legault smirked. "It doesn't hurt, not going to lie, but I'm at ease here for other reasons. For example, Nino's here, and she's happy. I think I've seen Lloyd, too. Really, it's a lot like old times." He sighed. "But you wouldn't know about that, would you? You were never really part of the Black Fang that I knew. You're just one of Nergal's little pets, like Sonia, Ephidel, and the others. Only difference is that you're not a Morph ... yet."
Ursula narrowed her eyes at that. "Take your joy while you can, Hurricane. Sooner or later, you'll have to go back to the world you've left behind, and I doubt you'll be able to outrun your demons there. Even if I'm dead, even if the entire Black Fang is ash and ruin, you can't lead a life like yours without it catching up to you. You know that."
Legault turned his back to her. "I do. And so do you. I'm sure I'll have to answer for my crimes, one day." Another smirk. "Just as I made certain that you answered for yours. I might not have gotten Nergal or Sonia. Too far beyond my skill. But you weren't."
"All talk," Ursula scoffed, "and no proof." She shook her head. "This truce won't last forever. Make the most of the time you have, and never darken my doorway."
"I won't. No worry of that." As she vanished from sight, he added to himself, I should thank you, though. You being here reminds me of what I'm putting off by playing 'hero' in this place. He smoothed his cloak. I'll get what's coming to me, I'm sure, but ... not yet. And he disappeared into the shadows. Ah. I wonder if Matthew's about? The Summoner did say that he was one of the very first heroes to appear here ....
END.
