„Hey, Case, what wrong with you today?“
Stokely eyed her best friend frowning.
„It's Zeke, isn't it? Maybe I should have a serious talk with him.“
Smirking Casey shook his head.
„No, no it's not him, everything is okay between us. He is not like you think he is, not anymore. He has changed. We all have, you can't go through a nightmare like this without getting affected by it.
It's exactly six months now...“
Stokely shuddered visibly; she had tried not to remember, but of course, Casey was right, no one of them would ever forget this day where Aliens had tried to take over the school, no, the world. They rarely talked about it and did move on, but every time they closed their eyes, the nightmare came back. No escape.
She almost jumped back, when she felt Casey's arm around her shoulder.
„Hey, it's okay, it's me.“
He pulled her closer, hold her tight.
„We did defeat her, she's dead, and we are still here, Stokes, stronger than ever before because we are not alone any longer. True friendship, that's what counts, today and forever.“
