"You darn kids with yer childhood promises," a somewhat drunk Kitsune said to Keitaro. "Y'all oughta just relax and enjoy life."
"First of all, you're not that much older than Naru or myself," Keitaro said. "And childhood promises are really important. Didn't YOU ever make a promise as a child?"
Kitsune was suddenly serious. "Actually, yeah, I did. I've never told anyone else about it, but would you like to hear it?"
Keitaro blinked in surprise. "Well... sure."
Kitsune drew Keitaro close. "I promised," she breathed in his ear, "never to tell a lie."
"Worst promise keeper evar," Keitaro noted.
