Author's note: My first drabble. Although I did say I would observe first but I couldn't resist. Please be kind, it's been a long time since I wrote anything except reports. =_=
Further notes: In my part of the world, it's already 28th. Forgive my early posting. I just couldn't sleep.

Satsuki wondered briefly what had startled her before the numerous cables of the Beast snaked and connected themselves to her body. For a moment, she tensed, flinching at the anticipated stabbing pain-- briefly hating the feeling of invasion as each cord penetrated her skin. Her eyes, shielded by the virtual reality helmet, closed for a moment as she waited in anticipation. The air was cool and the darkness enveloped her like a protective cocoon. Sweat had begun to bead her brow but she lay on her back, motionless and vulnerable. Waiting.

Eternity seemed to pass. Then time began.

Suddenly, a kaleidoscope of light and figures flooded through her like a warm sustaining current. The Beast had begun to hum. Her fingers flexed, curled then lifted. Like a dancing dragonfly hovering over the stillness of a pond, nimble fingers began tapping lightly the keys beside her. Subtly, her muscles relaxed as she sighed softly, letting the rush of data carry her to the intricate web of information.

She is now online.

The discomfort of the wires and the clamminess of her sweat-slick skin were soon forgotten. Satsuki was no longer a corporeal body but a part of a complex network of data-gathering machine. Every nerve and cell of her body was a part of an intricate machine of the beast god which enmeshed her body with its silicon embrace, a gateway to the endless stream of binary codes awaiting to be deciphered. There was no time to feel afraid or uncertain. She wanted this, didn't she? Machines are the only ones who can and would understand her.

A machine of the gods with its iron maiden, Kanoe mused. Her lips quirked with amusement as she turned to the silent man beside her. "What can you say, Yuuto-san?"

The usually cheerful blond engineer shifted his gaze to the voluptuous scientist with an uncharacteristic solemnity. "It is a monstrosity you are doing, Kanoe-san."

Her high tinkling laugh echoed through the cavernous hall of the Beast's lair. "Is it?" Kanoe's eyes narrowed thoughtfully as she surveyed the Beast. "But that is what she wanted it to be. To be one with her machine. We merely use her to our advantage, my dear Yuuto-san. And she is our weapon against the war of fate."

Well, I was thinking of adding more but my head hurts as it is. Please feel free to comment. Thank you. *bows*
