The thing you need to know about Bill Cipher is, he ain’t no genius. Master manipulator, sure. But when it comes to straight up intelligence, he’s a pushover. So he uses his knowledge of future timelines as a cheat-sheet, and asks one of the smarter henchmaniacs to help out sometimes. (Why else keep Kryptos around?)
Ford Pines, of course, being the astute judge of character that he is, fell for Bill’s act hook, line, and sinker. At last! he thought, someone as nerdy as me! Yes, Ford loved Bill, and Bill… well, he honestly liked Ford. (Fun toy, Bill thought.)
