Rukia bowed her head. "It was the best thing for both of us, honored older brother. No human should have to bear that sort of power."
"And memory ablation was performed?"
She nodded. "He and his friends can live normally now -- well, as normally as anyone does."
"The important thing," Byakuya said dryly, "is that they will live."
