Tenchi and Ryoko were watching an old war movie together. In one scene, a military officer smashed a bottle of champagne against the hull of a brand-new battleship.
Ryoko sat up with a gasp. "Why did they do THAT!?" she yelled.
"It's an old Earth tradition," Tenchi explained, "to christen a ship by smashing a bottle of champagne against its hull."
"I could NEVER do something like that!!" a distraught Ryoko cried.
"But Ryo-Ohki is a powerful spaceship," Tenchi said. "Surely something like that wouldn't hurt her."
"Not THAT!!" Ryoko wailed. "I could NEVER waste perfectly good alcohol like that!!"
