“Is it just me, or did it get dark all of a sudden?” asked Stan.
Ford sipped his coffee. “We’re sailing north of the Arctic Circle, Stanley; of course the days will get shorter quicker. Pretty soon the sun won’t rise at all.”
“No, I mean it just got… dark.”
“Yes, Stan, that’s what happens at sunset.”
“Dammit, Ford, listen to me!”
“No, you listen--” Ford was interrupted by a series of thuds on the boat’s deck. A rain of squids had just settled in.
“Want me to get the ray guns?” Stan asked flatly.
Ford groaned. “Sure. Thanks, Stanley.”
