"Sometimes," Kyon said to Yuki, Mikuru, and Itsuki, "I wish I were superhuman like the three of you. It'd be easier to handle Haruhi."
"Actually," Mikuru said, "Miss Nagato and I have seen alternate time-lines where you were NOT human, and every one of them was a BAD END."
"Really?" a surprised Kyon said. Yuki nodded silently in agreement.
"I guess I was meant to be merely human," Kyon thought out loud.
Itsuki gave Kyon his best creepy smile. "Regardless of how Haruhi feels, we love you just the way you are."
"The feeling is somewhat mutual," Kyon said nervously.
