The girls were looking through classroom windows at an overcast sky.
"It looks like it's going to rain," Chiyo said.
"What does?" Osaka asked.
"Um... the weather?" Chiyo said nervously.
"But the rain IS the weather," Osaka said. "How does rain rain?"
"Dunno," Tomo said, "but it does it all the time."
"But what's it doin' when it does it?" Osaka asked.
"Making you all wet?" Yomi suggested.
"Well, yeah," Osaka said, "but how can a thing 'thing'? It doesn't make sense."
"Verbing weirds language," Chiyo thought out loud.
"So does Osaka," said Yomi. "You could say that Osaka Osakas."
