December 2015 themes
Hello again, folks! This month's themes are mostly from poetry.
December 2015 themes
1. Leaves fall from my branches but I try to hold on.
2. Let's start from the pitiful and work our way back.
3. Your absence has gone through me / Like thread through a needle. / Everything I do is stitched with its color.
4. In this world / love has no color / yet how deeply / my body / is stained by yours.
5. swallow your poison, for you need it badly.
6. Am I still a villain if the only person I hurt is myself?
7. your heart is big enough to fill three of mine / and if you don't think that's some kind of gift / i don't know what to tell you
8. remember weather by the voice of the wheel.
9. that blinding explosion that left you crackling to the fingertips with electricity, initiated and transformed
10. I needed to be somewhere different. Maybe I needed to be someone different, too.
11. and sometimes the only safe place you’ll have is tree hollows and flowerbeds
12. i can pretend in that moment we’re not a rotting ecosystem
13. what all these poets dare not say / is that every girl has wolves / pacing rhythms in her heart
14. But I like it because it is bitter, and because it is my heart.
15. his holy god damned mouth
16. the tonnage / of their shoulders
17. dark water and the veins of trees
18. Their words become metallic spangles shivering the air.
19. sea-roads and earth-roads you traveled once
20. Listen, says ambition, nervously shifting her weight from / one boot to another -- why don't you get going?
21. i've never forgotten the charred bitter fruit of holiday's poplars
22. softened silver dancing through the outstretched palm too easily
23. I did not know that snakes could hibernate until this one woke up.
24. you are so little / you are more like a flower
25. a love like holy water
26. absurd black cosmos
27. The muddy roses. So much muck about. Hard walking.
28. beneath ice there is a world moving slow
29. all the hurt growing gardens between us
30. rattling my heart like a bird in a too-small cage
31. a million blinking promises that it'll all be okay
