“Oi! You can't park there!”

Shin cursed and peaked over his shoulder. He didn't stop and continued to he walk briskly toward campus. A man in a dark uniform and a weasel face waved wildly at Shin's car. “That is reserved parking!”

“It's okay, I'm a student!”Shin shouted back and then burst into a jog. Today wasn't turning out to be a good one. First his alarm clock had failed to ring, which had him scrambling to get dress and gather his things. He had even skipped his morning shower and breakfast to try to beat traffic, only to be snagged by it and making him ten minutes late.

By the time he made it across campus from the parking lot, he'd be twenty minutes late. He was flushed and embarrassingly out of breath by the time he reached the classroom, only to come to a dead halt near the door.

Uesugi leaned against the wall opposite the door, a slim book in his hand. He looked up and burst into laughter at the sight of him. Shin panted and tried to glare at the other boy.

“What?” Shin bit out. Shin looked at the close door and then at Uesugi. A suspicion tingled at the back of his mind. He approached slowly, the suspicion solidifying when he noticed a piece of paper pinned to the board next to the door.

Class Canceled

Shin groaned and pressed his forehead against the wall.

“You ran all the way over here, didn't you?” Uesugi gasped out behind him, once he managed to reign in his laughter. “You know, if I had your phone number I could have saved you the trouble.”

“You bother me enough when I'm on campus, I don't want you to bother me during my free time as well.”

Shin sighed and turned to face Uesugi. He fingered comb his hair, knowing how bedraggled he must look.

“Whatever you say,” Uesugi said, and eyed him critically. “Do you know you have your shirt on backwards?”

“Shut up,” Shin grumbled and pushed off the wall. “Why were you waiting for me anyways? That's just creepy.” Shin reached for his wallet. Since he had free time to kill before his second class, he might as well find something to eat. He opened his wallet. A folded piece of paper fell out.

“Not reason,” Uesugi said and quickly sidestepped when Shin suddenly stopped. Uesugi walked around him and watched as Shin picked up a piece of paper.

Shin unfolded it and then shouted: “Dammit!”

Uesugi only managed to read, 'Temporary Student Parking Permit,' before he jumped out of the way as Shin burst into a run.

“You're car is probably getting towed away right now!”

“SHUT UP!”
