“You should have done this online.”

“Shut up.”

Uesugi smirked and waved a folded piece of paper at him. “Much more convenient.”

Shin eyed the paper. “I can rip it apart.”

“I can print out another one,” Uesugi said with a careless shrugged. “Of course, I can always give them my order number. I've memorized it. That's all they need really.”

“...I could hit you.”

Uesugi laughed at him. “That still won't change the fact that you're going to stand in line for almost an hour.”

Shin scowled. “Who memories an order number, anyways?” He started walking toward the squat building. It was a little past eight in the morning and the university's co-op shop was teeming with students. The store looked small from the outside. Shin fervently hoped it was a deceptive facade, that it was actually larger on the inside. He really didn't fancy having to shove his way to get his course materials, and based on the amount of people coming in and out, he would have to resort to elbowing people out of the way.

“Oh, and Sawada, try not to get groped while you're in there,” Uesugi said with a breezy smile. He quickly melted into the crowd and headed toward the cashiers. Shin glared after him and then turned back to face the rest of the store with a sense of dread. The co-op wasn't much bigger on the inside and it was ridiculously packed with students. It was like being in Shinjuku at rush hour, only with less (hopefully) gropers.

Shin stared down at his list of textbooks he needed, and then at the press of people in front of him. It would be too easy to not even bother and bum off of Uesugi. It would teach the little shit. But no, that wouldn't work here. While he could pull that type of thing at Shirokin, the rules were different now. No more slacking off. Reality had shifted and he needed to adapt quickly to this strange new world. And that meant buying his stupid books.

“The first person that gropes is getting a punch in the face.”
