Tokyo University. Japan's top university. A world class center for cutting-edge research in a broad range of fields. The alma mater of multiple Nobel Prize laureates. Only the best got into Tokyo University, and of those, only the brightest graduated.

You couldn't do better than Todai, they said; not in prestige, reputation or bragging rights. Once in, you were set for life.

Sawada Shin wanted to burn the whole place to the ground. That, or run far away.

He watched in a sort of dazed as students swarmed around him. Some walked in groups, others loitered around, while a few walked with purposeful steps, perhaps heading to their next class. His own class, (his first of the semester), was scheduled to start in a forty five minutes.

He had arrived an hour early and had scouted the place. Well, more like figured where his classes were located. The place was huge, and more than a little confusing. Still, Shin felt a little overwhelm by the sheer size of the campus, the amount of people present and just, well, everything. Shin took a deep breath, and tried not to look like too much like a freshmen. He knew that he failed when a girl and her friend suddenly approached him.

“You must be one of the freshmen,” she said with a sweet smile. Her friend giggled beside her. “Perhaps we can help you find your class and maybe show you around...?”

“This is a big place,” the girl's friend added. She exchanged quick looks with her friend. “You can easily lose yourself if your not familiar.”

Shin was tempted to tell them to fuck off, but he wasn't at Shirokin and he had decided to be polite. Well, Yamaguchi had convinced him to be more polite. He never knew when complete strangers could become unexpected allies, she had reasoned.

“No, I'm alright,” he said and added a little nod. “I've already figured my class is over there. Thank you, though.” The girls giggled. He felt his eyebrow twitched.

“My, my, did you and that sensei break up already?”

Shin scowled. The girls flinched and excused themselves. He watched them leave, feeling a little bad, before he shot a look at Uesugi. “You.”

“Me,” Uesugi said. He smiled blandly at Shin.

“It's a curse come true.”

Uesugi smirked and looked around. “Are you ready to teach this school a thing or two?”

Shin shifted his shoulder strap to a more comfortable position. “I don't know what you're talking about.”

Uesugi smiled more genuinely, which made him look creepy. “Oh, I'm going to enjoy Todai.”

"I hate you."
