[13 Sept] [Viewfinder/Tokyo Crazy Paradise] [Off Trajectory 13/?]
Title: Off Trajectory 13/?
Day/Theme: 13 Sept/ Something's going on between them
Series: Viewfinder/Tokyo Crazy Paradise
Pairing: Asami Ryuichi/Takaba Akihito, Tsukasa/Ryuji
Notes/warnings: Timelines for both series have been viciously tweaked to create the scenario I have in mind.
I missed chapter 12 yesterday. It's up on my on LJ: chapter 12
It was past dinner time when Takaba, still recovering from Sandaime's interview with Asami that afternoon, received yet another shock. Looking for Asami, he slipped into the dining room to see that there was another visitor.
It was that strange man who showed up at the penthouse the other day, except that there was something different about him.
"Toshi-chan-" the man very nearly sang as he went over to Asami's brother, where Shirogami was standing together with Asami. "Here you are! Oh no, I missed the beautiful reunion between the brothers!" he exclaimed, then placed both hands on Asami's shoulders and tried to push them closer together. "Just look at the two of you! It's been years since you were together, and you still look like copies of each other." He suddenly frowned, and to Takaba's astonishment, stepped even closer to Asami, rising on tiptoe to inspect Asami's face. "Except I think Ryu-chan's got some wrinkles. Here, here and here." He pressed a finger to the space between Asami's eyebrows, then at the corners of his eyes in turn.
Asami, surprisingly, was letting the man touch him. Shirogami made a sound that could have been a snort, but when Takaba looked at him, there wasn't any indication on his face, just the same mask of patient neutrality.
The man stepped back and shook a lecturing finger in Asami's face. "You have been smoking again, haven't you? I thought I told you to quit smoking!"
For a moment, Takaba wondered how much longer Asami was going to let the man live. He honestly could not think of a situation where someone else had dared to lecture Asami. But the man seemed fearless.
"And your hair-"
"Okaasan, you're embarrassing him," Shirogami observed.
Okaasan?
The man paused. "Me?"
Shirogami nodded at where Takaba had managed to hide himself. "In front of his lover, no less."
The man (woman?) turned in Takaba's direction. "Takaba-san, you're here!"
Takaba wasn't sure what he was supposed to do. "This is your mother, Asami?" he finally asked, his voice almost inaudible with disbelief. Asami's mother wore men's clothes. Well, in a day that included Feilong being respectful to Asami's twin brother, it was not the strangest thing that Takaba had dealt with.
Before Asami could answer, Takaba found that his hand was now in the grip of the man (?) who pumped it up and down enthusiastically. "We meet again, Takaba-san. I'm Kozuki Tsukasa."
Takaba felt weak at the way the full blast of that intensive welcome was aimed at him. Those big eyes that seemed so mischievous seconds ago looked so serious now. "You-you really are Asami's mother?"
The woman frowned. "I don't really like that name, Asami. It was the name he took on when he ran away from home."
"At least he kept Ryuichi," Shirogami offered. "And he couldn't have used Shirogami when he was trying to cut off ties with us."
"He shouldn't have done that at all," Kozuki scowled, and turned to aim the full force of her disapproval at Asami, who lowered his eyes after long seconds.
"Hm." Kozuki turned back to Takaba. "So you also know Ichiro. Good. I trust anyone that Ichiro approves of."
Who would have thought that Munakata was his key to not being killed by the uber-yakuza? Takaba thought a trifle hysterically.
