[August 6] [Strange Magic] Conduct
Title: Conduct
Day/Theme: 6. a symptom of insomnia
Series: Strange Magic
Character/Pairing: Marianne/Bog King, Dawn, King Dagda
Rating: G
Marianne made it to breakfast in time for lunch. She nodded blearily through her sister’s questions and woke up enough to be surly when her father asked her where she had been. He knew very well where she had been, and she reminded him of that. His expression turned stormy, and she glared back, the smears of eyeshadow on her face just a little darker than the lovebites on her neck.
“A Queen cannot conduct herself like this,” he began and she barked out a laugh around a mouthful of acorn.
“When I’m Queen, I will do whatever I want,” she told him. Dawn had gone quiet and a little big-eyed, watching this.
“You aren’t Queen yet,” he snapped, and she pointed at him in triumph.
“Exactly,” she said. “And princesses are allowed to cavort with their fiancees.“
“Exactly!” Dawn echoed, anxious to have her own cavorting approved.
“Has he asked you yet?” Marianne asked Dawn, and the younger princess went bright pink.
“WHAT?” The King sputtered and in the following commotion between the King, his youngest daughter, and what she may or may not have accepted from a lowly elf, Marianne slunk back to her bed room. She needed to catch a nap if she wanted to be back to the Dark Forest at sundown.
