“Who died this time?”

“Shut up, Shin. It's a funeral.”

“You don't know either do you?”

“Of course I do.”

There was silence, save for the drone from the priest. Then: “You're such a liar.”

“I'm not! I just...I just can't remember right now.”

“Liar.”

“Children,” a third voice cut in. Ryuuichirou didn't look away from the priest. “In case you have forgotten, this is a funeral. Would it be too much to ask for a certain level of respect and decorum?”

There was a contrite silence. He shot a quick look at the arguing pair. Sawada and Kumiko looked resolutely forward, a faint blush on both of their faces. He grunted, satisfied.

There was no more interruptions after that. When the priest finished, and everyone began to disperse, they trailed after the Kumichou as they headed toward the car.

Wakamatsu opened the door for the Kumichou. Ryuuichirou hesitated and turned to look at them. “You know, I don't remember his name either.”

Sawada and Kumiko stared at him for a long moment. Ryuuichirou hummed and climbed into the car. Then Sawada snorted in amusement and climb after him, leaving Kumiko gaping after them.

“Grandpa! That's so mean!”

“Get in the car, Kumiko.”
