[Dec. 30] [Boardwalk Empire] Botched Job

Author's comment: Just a drabble.
A sniper needed to do be very patient. How many seconds, minutes, hours, days of consideration were poured into any given shot? And when at last that shot was taken it was meant to do the job all at once.
One shot, one kill.
It went the same both ways.
That bullet had gone through his neck; his face. Richard's right eye opened and took in the blurred edge of something white and beyond that an off-white wall. First, he realized the close thing was part of a pillow. After that, he became aware of the pain.
Alive. But why?
