“Your heart is beating very fast…” Shinji murmurs, hand sliding against the smooth skin of Kaworu’s chest.

“Only for you, Shinji-kun.” He says, fingers splaying over the piano in the melody of Joy.

“Kaworu?” He questions, after a moment of laying his hand over the place that is beating for him and for Beethoven.

“Yes, Shinji-kun?” He says, hitting the lowest note.

“Why is it beating so fast for me?” He asks, taps his fingers against the skin over his heart in the exact rhythm it is going.

“Because I love you.” He smiles.
