Author's comment: a drabble today and, phew, that's the month. Can't do all of February right after this, but looking forward to seeing what prompts we get next...!
They both knew roughly what this meant. Because if he still hadn't felt that way, the one-time mastermind of their group wouldn't have kept offering the invitation. Because if his wayward protege had really felt so differently he wouldn't have accepted it.
They went back to the house where they had lived before. There was a lot to talk about after all this time. The sun went down around them and they didn't bother with turning on the lights.
If they didn't, in one manner or another, continue to love each other after it all, then what was the point?
