[Jan. 10] [Suikoden IV] Southern Cross
Title: Southern Cross
Day/Theme: Jan. 10, 2014 "the stars remain the same"
Series: Suikoden IV
Character/Pairing: Lazlo
Rating: G
Even if they could never return to Razril- well, perhaps his friends might walk that soil again someday, Lazlo would hardly begrudge them that, they were far too kind volunteering to join him in exile in the first place- it wasn't as if the rest of the world was entirely disconnected from his experiences up to this point, Lazlo reminded himself.
He had come to love spending time at sea as much as being ashore, so there was that. Even crammed in this tiny dinghy with Kenneth and Chiepoo and Tal, who was snoring, there was the ocean around them, endless and welcoming. With his head down low like this, lying upon the deck, he couldn't quite see it, but he could feel that restful rocking. Soon enough, it would lull him to a peaceful sleep.
But before that, he would consider the stars. If you traveled far enough, they said, to the continent to the north, perhaps, the stars would shift, the known sinking out of sight the further you ventured and unknown constellations rising to replace them, but the distance they had traveled from Razril to this spot was inconsequential.
Over Lazlo and over Snowe the stars remained the same.
