January 2014 Themes
In the absence of a theme set from
juxtaposie (Just drop me a line if you're still interested in this and want to get back into the queue for another month this year), here is your January 2014 pinch hit theme set from me!
Happy New Year to all of you!
"I wish I could make one story out of all these themes!" is the idea I had in mind while arranging these.
- here I dreamt I was a soldier
- double exposure
- I've seen your picture / your name in lights above it
- your face lights up when someone says, "It might be dangerous."
- because something beautiful was hidden there
- There's so much I want to say to you.
- things you need to forget
- about doubles and brothers and shadows
- where it has not rained for days
- the stars remain the same
- the past takes its meaning from whatever we do right now
- he does not want to come in
- I am very small
- I'd prefer you didn't think I'm cute.
- Are you going, brother?
- so far, this has been a one-way tale
- of coming-of-age during wartime, and never reaching the proper age
- you see time burning
- at the beginning of his life
- dreams will only break your heart
- men are not bought and sold with words alone
- They looked at each other, baffled, in love and hate.
- dance parties set to symphonies of social grace
- if they fail to feed the hungry monster
- love that drives you to death
- the art of looking interesting
- as seen from a poet's distance, while dressed in white
- don't look back, don't look back
- the future belongs to someone else
- but all stories end: you know that
- Otherwise, what's the point?
