[October 11] [Transformers: Armada] Run Away

Title: Run Away
Day/Theme: [October 11] I know how furiously your heart is beating
Series: Transformers: Armada
Character/Pairing: Thrust, Tidal Wave, a mention of Inferno
Rating: Pg-13
Notes: My first time drabbling. This is an AU I've been playing around with for while but never actually wrote about.

Go, he said.

I didn’t want to leave him. The attackers were breaking through the blast doors as he spoke and not even he could hold them off forever.

Go, he said as he pushed Inferno into my arms while the other minicons begged that I choose one of them instead, pushing their triadmates forward so that at least one third of their lives would go on. I couldn’t take more then one in my cockpit, but I still feel like I should have done something. But I was helpless.

Go, he said, pushing me towards an escape hatch in the ceiling of his laboratory, a hatch that I hadn’t even known about until today. He had been concealing minicons in his home, hiding resources that both factions would have killed to get their hands on.

Go, he said. So I jumped out and flew, faster and faster until I felt like my thrusters would explode if I didn’t land. I heard laserfire behind me as I fled. I don’t know how close I was to death, I didn’t dare look back. Inferno did; he said they were so close he could see the reflections on their optic sensors.

Go, he said. That was the last word I heard from one of the greatest scientific geniuses on Cybertron. He disapproved even of the war games I played with my friends and yet he went down fighting. It’s not right that he should have died like that. He only wanted peace, his research was for the good of Cybertronians everywhere.

Go, he said. So I fled like the cowardly weakling I am and left my mentor behind to be ripped to pieces by power-hungry soldiers.

For the sake of a bumbling novice named Thrust and a minicon named Inferno, Tidal Wave lies dead.
