Subaru sometimes thinks he’s made of glass
It’s not just that Seishirou-san said he had the same value as a cup, it’s that he feels that if he is jostled one more time he’ll shatter into a million pieces.
He wonders if Seishirou-san would like that. If perhaps he might be better broken. Dead. He wonders if Seishirou-san would even know. If the pentagrams would bother to tell him. Or if Seishirou-san would know but not care enough to even think about it, just laugh and smoke a cigarette and go on with his life.
Subaru sometimes cuts himself. Just to make sure he still is flesh-and-blood, after all.
