[October 9th] [Original] A warning to Thieves

Title: A warning to Thieves
Day/Theme: October 9: Scholars and Gentlemen
Series: Original
Character/Pairing: Belle/Diana
Rating: PG-13
Author's Note: At an Alchemist’s convention

“That noxious repugnant slimy no-good filthy rotten thieving bastard! Who in the hells does he think he is?” Diana screamed, stomping out down the hallway and. Belle thanked the fates that the hallway was empty as she jogged to keep up with her hot-tempered partner.

“I’ll murder him! I’ll castrate him and use his seed to fertilize the garden!” Diana ranted, not slowing down. Belle thought that would be a rather bad idea, considering what else Diana had impulsively inflected on the poor garden. Who knew what would rise up to greet them if she did? Belle shook of the image of a mutant cabbage baby calling for its mother as she caught up with Diana at least.

“For heaven’s sake, who? And what did he do?”

“That… that… arrogant bastard Sir James Montonia-Jaques! He stole my diagram, parading it around like he deserved a ribbon! That pompous ass. He’s a third rate alchemist, a yearling apprentice could best him in any aspect of the craft.” Diana was mumbling threats under her breath. Belle caught her arm and tried to calm her down.

“This is a convention for scholars and gentlemen, I hardly think-” Diana cut her off:

“Gentlemen? Gentlemen? I’ll see how gentle he is when I cut off his manhood and grind it up to make poison,” Diana shot back, finally slowing down a bit

“Please, just because you have a grudge against men doesn’t mean you have to take it out on Sir James,” Belle said soothingly.

“You’re saying I shouldn’t be enraged over this blatant act of thievery? He particularly broke his cheeks grinning at my discomfort. I’d break his face if he was here right now, he’d never smile again…” Diana looked eerily pleased by this prospect. Fearing a violent confrontation, Belle was about to suggest they go home when a piercing scream echoed down the hall from the laboratory. Belle shivered.

“Shouldn’t we go see what that wa-” But the look on Diana’s face stopped her cold. She was grinning fit for the darkest demon.

“Didn’t I tell you? Sir James is such an ignorant fool that he miscopied some of the symbols in the target circle. If I’m not mistaken, he’s just turned himself into a delectable rabbit. And our host has made much of how his prize guardian dogs love rabbit…” Belle could only shake her head at her lover’s bloodthirsty nature as they walked back to the meeting hall.
