[Mar. 13] [Crossover: Ace Attorney/Fullmetal Alchemist] Makes Me Feel Young
Title: Makes Me Feel Young
Day/Theme: March 13, 2013 "those whom the gods love grow young"
Series: crossover - Fullmetal Alchemist x Ace Attorney
Character/Pairing: Machi/Kimblee
Rating: PG
This riffs on 'With Eyes Completely Open, But Nervous All The Same,' but averts the 'bad end.'
Kimblee came home from the hospital. And that was all that mattered.
Klavier thoughtfully provided his friends with a ride back to their apartment and help up the stairs, but Machi, as usual, preferred to take care of thing as much as he could, on his own. It worried him how subdued Kimblee was since the accident. While it made sense that he would be shaken up by such a near-fatal experience, it wasn't as if Kimblee hadn't stared death in the face many times before.
Maybe it just confirmed what they had both been thinking more and more these days. Kimblee was getting old.
Well, Machi would do his best to reassure him that even if he were older now and frailer, he was still dearly loved. Starting out with good intentions, he went into the kitchen to cook up a plate of scrambled eggs and some coffee, but quickly fell to frustrated grumbling as the universe refused to make this easy for him. The eggs were old and of questionable quality and that last thing he wanted to do was bring Kimblee something that would make him sick.
He switched over to chicken noodle soup from a can, which seemed to work out exceedingly better.
He carried the meal into Kimblee's bedroom on a tray and sat down beside him on the edge of the bed. "Look," he tried to smile, "How often would I do for you something like this?"
"It reminds me of when I was young," Kimblee replied. There was nothing more than a ghost of a smile lighting his often cheerful face. "When I was sick, my mother would do this sort of thing for me."
"I plan on doing all sorts of things for you," Machi almost immediately defaulted back to his usual serious manner. "All I ask is that you quit that job, although I know you will be away from it now. If you cannot help the police over the phone or the internet, I will not allow you to do it."
"I don't think I have much of a choice," Kimblee shook his head slowly.
"You will not mind with so many things go your way. I will bring you meals like this and do the chores until you are well enough to help. I can brush your hair for you. I go out to the library and bring back books for you to read in bed. …Maybe you would like some comics?"
"It sounds like I'm going to be treated like a kid."
"You are lucky for chance to enjoy growing young again."
