[March 6] [Ib] Always by her side
Title: Always by her side
Day/Theme: Mar 6th – all art is immoral
Fandom: Ib (game)
Character/Pairing: Garry, Ib / slight garryib?
Rating: PG
"Garry!"
He'd grown use to hearing his name coming from a voice that sounded of tinkling bells. A spring day, full of fresh grass and budding roses.
But time seemed to change most things.
Her being one of them.
Her voice had grown softer - a velvety sound, akin to that of a rose in full bloom. She'd grown taller, coming to his chin now. Her face more slender, cheekbones more defined with womanhood. Her eyes though... though they fit a woman, the innocence still burned within those russet hues.
He smiled at her, waving at her as she approached. He offered her a candy. "Ready?"
She smiled pleasantly, accepting the candy. "Of course."
He should feel awkward when their hands met and fingers linked. He shouldn't indulge in such things. But she'd always be his little Ib.
They walked into the art gallery together, both of them feeling an unspoken connection and a tremor of fear as they did. Art galleries had become a thing of nightmares to them – but they found themselves drawn to them none-the-less.
He blinked down at her as she squeezed his hand gently. He squeezed back, reassuring her he was here and he wasn't going to leave her. He noticed from the corner of his eyes that the furrow on her brow relaxed and her lips softened into a smile.
His heart hammered – making him look forward, trying to ignore those obscene feelings.
When she finally stopped before the new exhibit, Garry felt her hand leave his. He watched her look up at the sign, her eyes widening slightly and her teeth digging into her lips. Garry felt fear ripple through him as well.
“You don't have to, you know?”
“It's been so long...”
He nodded, stuffing his hands in his pockets; fiddling with the lighter inside the right. Ib sighed, looking back at Garry with a worried look. He smiled at her, letting go of the lighter and removing his hands from the depths of his pockets. “Don't worry Ib... the nightmare ended years ago. And if it were to start again,” he took hold of her hand, squeezing it gently. “I'll be there for you.”
Ib flushed and rolled her eyes. “More like I'd be there for you! Don't think I don't remember how much you clung to me last time.”
He sputtered, which caused her to laugh. She tugged on his arm and dragged him into the refurbished Guertena exhibit. Garry smiled, knowing he'd follow this girl anywhere – even into the hell that is Guertena's world.
