(October 9) (Bleach) To speak of the Dead.
Ok, my third entry at 31days, I hope I don't displease, and I aim to please, so feedback and comments appreciated! (x-posted in my journal)
Title: So speak of the Dead.
Day/Theme: October 9th, Scholars and gentlemen
Series: Bleach
Character/Pairing: Ichigo, Byakuya
Rating: G
“S’cuse me, I’m here to see the scholar!” A loud voice punctured the steady silence, making everyone who had had their heads buried in books look up to see a rather bright-haired man.
“Sir, seeing the scholar is by appointment-”
“Don’t call him ‘sir’, he’s no gentlemen.” A brunette spoke in a clipped tone, straight back and a barely noticeable sneer used to make out the appearance of a rich man. “What do bother me for??”
Ichigo snorted, staring at him in something akin to disbelief, “I asked for the scholar, not some snot-nosed rich kid.” He crossed his arms, looking around for said man.
“I’m older than you,” Byakuya said, unwearyingly, writing something down on his papers before returning his attention to the other. “I am the scholar. I repeat, what do you bother me for?”
The redhead stared incredulously before snapping his jaw shut, forcibly relaxing and taking a defensive pose, “May I sit?”
“You’re slight accent mangles your proper English, if you don’t mind me saying. You may sit,” The brunette had returned to his books, shutting some and reopening others.”
Ichigo obeyed somewhat, shooting the man a dark look for the comment before taking a seat across from him. He folded his hands, waiting impatiently for him to look up.
“Now what are you here to speak to me about? Troubles with women, how the stars fit into your daily life?” Byakuya had still not looked up, preferring to keep writing and ignoring the other man. He expected him to ask about such things, something stupid and inane that had no hold on what he actually studied.
“I wanted to ask about idea’s about the world of shinigami, and share some of my own,” A clipped tone, surprised eyes, and Ichigo’s smile.
“Alright. What would you like to know?”
They sat there for the rest of the afternoon, each becoming more impressed with the other for each passing hour.
