[02 Jan 2013] [Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask] Deja Vu
Title: Deja Vu
Day/Theme: 02. dialogue lost loop
Series: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Character/Pairing: Cremia, Romani, Link
Rating: G
The explosion rattled the dishes, and Cremia had to check to makes sure none of them had broke. She was still doing that, when Romani stuck her head into their house, before stepping all the way inside. Romani was still carrying her bow and arrows. Cremia was proud of her sister's skill, but she hoped Romani would remember to retrieve her misses from the grass this time. And to not practice until her chores were done.
"What happened? Are you all right?" Romani said.
"I'm fine. It came from the valley entrance," Cremia told her sister. "Probably work done to clear the road." Romani said that the blocked road had to be done on purpose, but Cremia thought it was just a landslide. There had been an earthquake, after all, and people in town were worried about the moon when Cremia visited a few days ago. "Will you go make sure the cows are all right, while I talk to the workmen?"
Romani sighed. "What about the horse we found?"
"Her too." Cremia figured her sister probably wanted to see what was going on as well, but she still had chores. So did Cremia, but checking the road was necessary if she was going to make her deliveries to Clock Town for the carnival.
It was a short walk towards the blockage, which had been blown to gravel. The workmen were standing around. "Hello. Thank you so much," Cremia said, walking up to them.
"Wasn't us, ma'am," one workman said. "A Goron came down from Clock Town with a powder keg, and took off after that. He said he'd heard we were having trouble. Darndest thing, but useful; it would have taken us days to get through with picks and normal explosives."
Cremia nodded. "I'm grateful to you anyway, just for coming out this way. Would you like to come back to the Ranch for breakfast before you head back to town? And if you see the Goron again, you're welcome to tell him we owe him breakfast, if he's willing to trust a human cooking." She didn't know what Gorons ate, but she could ask Anju… if Anju wasn't busy with her wedding preparations.
Cremia shook her head. Since the Goron wasn't here, she didn't need to worry about that. Or think about Anju and Kafei's wedding.
"We'd like that, ma'am," the workman said.
Cremia was about to direct the workmen back to the house when a young boy, dressed all in green, came running up from the field. He didn't even pause at the rubble, but did stop when he saw Cremia. "Hi, Cremia! Is Romani all right?"
Cremia frowned. Something about the boy tugged at the corner of her mind, a feeling that she should know him, but she couldn't recall when they'd met. He certainly sounded like he knew her, and looked worried. Maybe he thought the explosion was more dangerous than it was, or that Romani had been near the landslide when it happened. "She's fine. She's at the ranch, checking on the cows." Or sneaking off for archery practice again. "Why-"
The boy muttered something under his breath, something about tonight. "Thank you! I'll talk to you later!"
He must be one of Romani's friends, but Cremia wondered where or when Romani had met him. Romani rarely went into town with her since their father died. Cremia had promised that once Romani was an adult, she could drive the milk wagon to town, and they could even find a part-time worker so they could go together. Perhaps he had dropped by the ranch before, and that's why he felt like someone Cremia should know.
"Ya know," the workman commented, "those green hats are really catching on. The Goron from town had one too. Maybe I should get one for my kids."
"They do look like I've seen them before," Cremia said.
